連鎖関係代名詞は学校ではまず習わないですし、取り上げている参考書もそれほど多くはありません。予備校に通っていてもコースによっては習わない人が多いと思います。
構造がちょっとわかりにくいので、知っていないと、なんかこの英文意味が取れないなで終わってしまいます。
英文を読んでいる中で見つけた連鎖関係代名詞の例文を自分用にメモしています。
その1 動詞：believe
The Gulf of Eilat is a part of the Red Sea surrounded by Israel, Jordan, Egypt and Saudi Arabia.It is home to coral reefs that scientists believe might be more resistant to warming waters resulting from human-caused climate change.
エイラート湾は、イスラエル、ヨルダン、エジプト、サウジアラビアに囲まれた紅海の一部です。そこは、人為的な気候変動による温暖化水域に対してより耐性があるかもしれないと科学者たちが信じているサンゴ礁の生息地です。
2文に分ける
It is home to coral reefs that scientists believe might be more resistant to warming waters resulting from human-caused climate change.を2文に分けると、以下のようになる。
①It is home to coral reefs.
（それはサンゴ礁の生息地である。）
②Scientists believe these coral reefs might be more resistant to warming waters resulting from human-caused climate change.

believeのあとには接続詞のthat（～ということ）が省略されている。
連鎖関係代名詞の復元
②に関係代名詞のthatをつける
先行詞は①のcoral reefs。②のthese coral reefsを関係代名詞のthatに変更します(②’)。

関係代名詞のthatを先行詞のあとに持ってくる
関係代名詞は先行詞のあとにつけないといけないので、①のcoral reefsのあとにつなげます(①’)。

もともとbelieve以下にあった従属節の関係代名詞のthatが主節のScientists believeを飛び越えるので、構造としてわかりにくくなるのが連鎖関係代名詞の特徴です。
訳し方
関係代名詞のthatのあとのSV（ここではScientists believe）を最後に訳して、先行詞につなげると訳しやすいと思います。
「それは、人為的な気候変動による温暖化水域に対してより耐性があるかもしれないと、科学者たちが信じているサンゴ礁の生息地です。」
その2 動詞：estimate
